If you’ve thought about cutting bangs for fall but just haven’t quite found the perfect inspiration, look no further: Jennifer Lawrence’s new fringe bangs just scream fall.
On October 23, Lawrence attended the AFI Los Angeles Film Festival in Hollywood and surprised everyone on the carpet with her new haircut. The newly-pregnant star arrived in an all-white Dior trench and sophisticated glam that she paired with her freshly-chopped, fringy retro bangs.

Hairstylist Gregory Russell is behind Lawrence’s new cut which features a lightweight wispy fringe that curls inwards right at her eyebrows. It looks as though he styled the rest of her hair to appear as natural-looking as possible, maybe letting it air dry and adding some texture to create the subtle wave throughout her strands. Her new French Girl cut is retro, chic, and feels like the perfect refresh for fall.
For makeup, Lawrence worked with Georgie Eisdell who opted for a less-is-more approach. Her cat-eye eyeliner drew attention to her eyes (and also her new bangs) but the rest of her makeup was pretty natural. The look was complete with a touch of coral blush and a matching satin lipstick.

Although so far this fall we’ve seen a handful of color changes—from ’90s blondes to darker, black licorice shades—and lots of bobs, it’s been a moment since we’ve been surprised with a pair of bangs. With Lawrence’s fluffy fringe co-sign, hopefully we’ll see more pop up.
It’s as though the actor has always had bangs—that’s how authentic the new style felt on the star. If Lawrence’s new cut tells us anything about the hair trend cycle, it’s that we’re in for a banging fall.
