There’s finally a chill in the air, which means one thing: Gala season is officially in full swing. From the Academy Museum Gala to the CFDA Awards and now the LACMA Art and Film Gala, the fashion set is making this fall’s festivities something worth paying attention too. In particular, we couldn’t help but pay close attention to Cara Delevingne’s newest hair change.
The LACMA Art and Film Gala took place on Saturday, November 2 in Los Angeles and helps to support the museum’s programming and exhibits. Hosted by Gucci, everyone from Blake Lively to Charli XCX was in attendance and dressed to the nines. Delevingne arrived in a chic black Gucci gown, styled up with a major statement accessory: fluffy baby bangs.

It’s true that bangs may have taken a backseat this fall to the bob cut. That said, the model’s short take on the chop was all the more refreshing. Hairstylist Irinel de León is the brains behind the look, which featured short, fluffy bangs that sat right at the top of the forehead and swooped inwards, creating lots of volume—very Audrey Hepburn. The shiny bangs showed off Delevingne’s lived-in blonde color, and the rest of her hair was messily swept back into a bun tied in a cool sculptural knot. From the front, you’d almost think the multi-hyphenate opted for a pixie cut thanks to the eye-catching hair illusion.
Since the hair was the statement of the look, the rest of her glam was easygoing and pretty, courtesy of makeup artist Shelby Smith. Putting a spin on the no-makeup makeup red carpet trend, Delevingne wore minimal mascara topped with a baby wing and with her fluffy signature brows. Her cheeks had a touch of blush and the look was complete with a rosy pink lipstick.

We’ll be adding Delevingne’s micro take on Hepburn bangs to the top of our fall hair mood boards.
