November is here, and with it comes the official start of the holiday season. While some people will be quick to transform their homes into little winter wonderlands, others may fill their wardrobes with all the latest autumn trends. Whatever your approach, you’re likely ready to wear it on your nails. Before you go down a rabbit hole of nail art ideas, though, let’s first discuss the best nail polish colors for November. We chatted with five nail pros to determine the most popular polishes for the month. From blue-toned reds and burnt orange to dark chocolate and shimmery amber, ahead, explore 10 nail polish colors for November to help kick off the holidays.
Deep Blue-Toned Reds

Up first, we have blue-toned reds. These deep cranberry shades embody the changing colors of leaves and Thanksgiving and Christmas palettes. “Let’s be honest, red nails never go out of style,” says Olivia Van Iderstine, Olive & June‘s mani trend expert and vice president of content. “The trick is finding your version of red that feels perfect for the season. As the weather continues to chill, we’re moving away from spicier, orangey reds and toward more blue-toned reds. This adds a little bit of moodiness and takes us right into all the late-fall festivities.”
DIY nail art content creator Jamie Greenwald agrees—though she recommends having fun with the finish, too. “A deep red is always perfect for fall, but a jelly finish gives your mani a juicy plumpness that takes it to the next level,” she says.
Burnt Orange

Embrace fall foliage and pumpkin vibes with a burnt orange manicure. “It’s not very original but I can never get enough burnt orange this time of year,” Greenwald says. “It just feels cozy and warm. Pumpkin pie, fall leaves, fireside—nothing fits better.”
Dusty Sage
Olive & June
Now that peak foliage season has come and gone, most leaves have fully transformed from their vibrant green appearance—but that doesn’t mean green is out of the question for November manicures. Greenwald and nail art content creator Dayanna I. Sapiens suggest opting for dustier sage and moss green tones. “Sage is my fall time neutral—it goes with any outfit and looks great on any skin tone,” Greenwald shares. “Add a matte topcoat to give it that muted autumn vibe.”
Meanwhile, Sapiens says to experiment with a metallic moss green polish with a fine golden shimmer finish, like the shade To The Nines by Lights Lacquer. It’s one of her go-to’s this month.
Deep Olive Green
Mooncat
For a darker, moodier green manicure, UK-based nail artist Mutsa recommends reaching for deep olive green. “A deep and rich olive shade will compliment gold jewelry and any other autumnal tones in your wardrobe perfectly,” Mutsa says.
For an extra festive finish, OPI Global Ambassador Zola Ganzorigt suggests using a metallic olive polish. “Ozitively Elphaba from the new OPI Wicked Collection is my personal favorite,” she reveals.
Denim Blue
Gelcare
Blue nails might feel like a summer aesthetic, but if you cool down the tone and opt for more muted hues, it’s a color that works beautifully for fall, too. “Not as expected for a November shade, but what goes better with fall weather than a good pair of jeans?” Greenwald asks, recommending denim blue hues for November. “Light wash, dark wash—why not try it on your nails?”
Mutsa is also a fan of denim blue nails. Her must-wear? Gelcare’s Denim. “It’s rich yet lowkey and will pair beautifully with silver jewelry,” she says.
Sheer Mauve
Gelcare
For a more neutral nail look this November, try a sheer mauve mani. “Meet your perfect fall neutral palette cleanser,” says Van Iderstine. A “milky mauve sheer is sure to be one of the most versatile colors in your entire wardrobe,” she argues. “It’s neutral with a touch of sweater vibes for a more fall feel. It’s also the ideal base for all the fun fall Frenchies and other nail art. It truly goes with everything!”
Rich Plum
Gelcare
Love the idea of a berry November mani but want to go deeper and moodier than a blue-toned red? Consider a rich plum nail look. “Vampy vibes and fall are forever a perfect match,” Van Iderstine says. “The darker and more nearly black, the better! Plum is moody and sophisticated, and a total goes-with-everything dark neutral. Plus, these shades become the ultimate conversation starter: ‘Is it black?’ ‘Nope, it’s a super dark plum!’ Be sure to keep the look super glossy to give it that patent-leather shine.”
If you’re intrigued by plum nail looks but prefer to let a little light through, Mutsa recommends using a jelly polish. Her pick? DVOK’s Water Plum. “Glass polishes are going to be all the rave this holiday season, and this sheer plum shade will allow you to keep the vampy vibes going beyond October,” she explains.
Sheer, Shimmery Lavender Gloss
Olive & June
Speaking of sheer finishes, Van Iderstine says that sheer, shimmery lavender nail polish is set to flood our feeds this November. “Move over glazed donut! The soft shimmery look to try for fall is one sheer coat of an iridescent lavender shimmer—it creates a soft wash of shimmer on the nail but is so delicate it still plays like a neutral,” she says. Not one for shimmer? A cool jelly lavender works, too.
Dark Chocolate

If you enjoy ultra-dark manis for fall but want to maintain a little warmth to exude the coziness of the holiday season, a dark chocolate polish will make you swoon. “A deep, rich brown mani is so trendy and perfect for November,” Greenwald says. “It’s elegant and chic and a no-brainer.” Van Iderstine agrees: “A dark chocolatey brown is the color for fall,” she says. “We started fall with some warmer, teddy bear brown shades, and November is all about a bittersweet, deeper brown like dark chocolate. It’s super dark but still has so much intrigue and coziness.”
Mutsa is also a major proponent of the color for November. “Olive & June Dark Chocolate is a delicious and luxurious dark chocolate,” she shares. “It’s not always easy to find universal deep nail shades, but this one is close to perfect.”
Shimmery Amber and Bronze

For an even cozier brown manicure this November, Sapiens suggests opting for a micro-sparkle metallic warm brown. “It looks beautiful as a solid color or to do some fun nail art,” she says, noting that she especially likes amber nail looks this time of year. “Amber nails are the perfect way to take your mani to the next level with a velvet effect that shimmers every time you move your nails.”
