If you were to ask us what party-ready hairstyle we’re embracing for the season ahead, we’d gladly tell you it’s fluffy, disco-ready curls. Cutesy bows and a fresh blowout will always be a go-to, but there’s something about voluminous curls a lá Charli XCX that embody the holidays in the best way. Nicole Kidman would (probably) agree: The actor tried on the hairstyle for the premiere of Netflix’s Spellbound, and we’re obsessed.
If you aren’t familiar, Spellbound is Netflix’s latest animated offering, starring Kidman alongside Rachel Zegler and Nathan Lane. For the official premiere of the film in New York, Kidman arrived looking like a snow angel in a lacy whites dress paired with pretty curls that we’ll be copying all fall long.

The key to the disco curl is in the volume. Rather than the mermaid waves of summer, fluffy fall and winter curls have more of a tighly-curled crimp. Kidman’s are a great example. Styled by hairstylist Serge Normant, the actor’s hair was parted down the center and crimped into long waves. The curls fit with the boho-esque dress so well and it felt like a cool retro take on fall red carpet style.
Kidman’s glam was just as good, although more pared-back, likely to let the dress and curls have their own moment. Crafted by Gucci Westman, she likely used all Westman Atelier products to achieve Kidman’s all-over glow and pinched pink cheeks. She completed the look with a smoky eyeshadow blended out into a wing and a swipe of nude lip gloss.

Go ahead and get your ’90s crimpers out. With a co-sign from Kidman, the style will likely be a hit throughout the cooler season.
