Byrdie’s Holiday Issue featuring Eve Hewson

Each year, I’m unable to hide my excitement surrounding the holidays. I have absolutely zero chill about days spent lounging—with no concept of time—and the sparkly, cheer-filled nights. I love how the city lights up and empties. I love that I can carry out my favorite traditions (holiday parties, fancy dinners at restaurants otherwise too hard to get into, and Chinese food on Christmas). Most of all, I love the anticipation of a good time.

With that comes all the shopping, planning, gift-giving, and change-of-season madness. Each one brings about new and different opportunities to style a holiday look. Such was the inspiration for our shoot with Perfect Couple and Bad Sisters star Eve Hewson. Hewson is a chameleon, one who looks right at home in a classic, Old Hollywood updo as much as she does in Y2K-inspired sunglasses. We put her in both, plus a lip ring and tinsel, to demonstrate that there’s no one holiday look. It’s not only about red lips and gold eye shadow. She’s got range, honey!
