Charli XCX has solidified her status as a true fashion chameleon, known for a style that is as loud and experimental as her music. She consistently balances high-fashion sophistication with a gritty, avant-garde edge that keeps the industry watching. Whether she is performing on a global stage or walking the streets of a film festival, her wardrobe choices prioritize bold textures and unexpected silhouettes, this time wearing a sheer skirt under a super cozy-looking fur coat.
Charli XCX attends Sundance Film Festival in cozy fur coat and sheer frilly skirt from Rodarte
Charli XCX made a striking appearance in a sheer skirt and fur coat at the Sundance Film Festival for the press and premiere of her movie, “The Moment.” Her ensemble was a masterclass in contrasting textures. The centerpiece of the look was a voluminous, shaggy cream-colored coat.
This piece comes from the Rodarte Spring/Summer 2016 archive. The coat features a heavy, Mongolian lamb fur texture with dark, lace-like accents peeking through the fluff. To give the oversized piece some structure, she wore a black studded leather belt cinched tightly at her waist.
Under the cozy outerwear, the singer wore a white honeycomb-style skirt that was as sheer as it gets. The piece is made of delicate, see-through tulle featuring a subtle polka-dot and “honeycomb” pattern. Its light, airy fabric provided a sharp contrast to the bulk of the fur coat. The hem of the skirt draped elegantly over her legs, adding a soft, feminine touch to the otherwise punk-inspired outfit.
Her footwear was just as bold as the rest of her attire. She wore pointed-toe boots with a graphic, multi-colored pattern in shades of black, tan, and white. These boots are also part of the Rodarte SS16 collection, tying the archival look together. For accessories, she opted for sleek, rectangular black sunglasses that added a cool vibe.
She carried a textured black handbag, specifically the “Kyle in Midnight Marquise” by Hammitt. Styled by Chris Horan, Charli looked effortlessly chic and daring. Her long, dark, wavy hair and confident stride completed the high-fashion moment captured by photographer Declan Manley.
