Angelina Jolie Swapped Her Sleek Blowout For Dramatic Curls

Angelina Jolie has always been a style muse, there’s no doubt about it. As of late, the actor has cemented a quiet luxury-esque usual style and doesn’t stray too far from her signature sleek strands and neutral glam. Until now, that is. Jolie opted for bouncy curls and bold red lipstick for the AFI Fest in Los Angeles over the weekend, making a bold hair statement.

On Saturday, October 26, Jolie attended a press event for her upcoming Netflix film Maria at the American Film Institute Festival. If you’re unfamiliar, Jolie is set to play Maria Callas, one of the most esteemed opera singers of the 20th century. For the occasion, the actor arrived in statement-making glam that was so unexpected.

So far throughout her press tour, Jolie has opted for straight, shiny strands or some sort of bouncy blowout with minimalist your-skin-but-better glam and sometimes, a bold lipstick. This time, the actor majorly switched things up, styling her golden blonde hair in bouncy curls that we couldn’t take our eyes off of. The pretty texture highlighted the flecks of blonde and caramel strands throughout her hair—not to mention, it’s a style we haven’t seen from the star in a while.

Paired with the bouncy curls, she wore a satin red lipstick that looked like the color of a perfectly ripe strawberry. The rest of Jolie’s glam was standard and featured cloud skin, bold brows, and soft, winged eyeliner topped with wispy lashes and bronzy shadow.

Not only is Jolie a hair queen, but a sustainable one, too. It’s the third time so far this press tour that she’s styled her slinky gray dress, this time, layering it under a black cap coat and matching pumps.
