I wouldn’t consider Bella Hadid a hair chameleon, but we know the supermodel can try on practically any look and make it her own. Yet, she typically sticks to her ’90s blowouts, long wavy styles, and as of recently, horse girl braids—until now, that is. Hadid is switching things up ahead of winter with an unexpected hair change.
The beauty founder traveled to Dubai earlier this week for an event with Chopard, wearing lots of vintage (specifically, a Thierry Mugler jumpsuit from the ’80s thanks to stylist Molly Dickson) paired with a fresh new haircut (something old, something new, you know?). For the occasion, she debuted fluffy retro bangs, kickstarting the trend up again for winter.

The new look was giving Carla Bruni vibes. Hadid channeled the iconic supermodel with a wispy fringe that rested on her forehead. Longer pieces sat on the sides of her temple, with one long layer on each side sitting right at chin length and curling up. The rest of her hair was styled in loose waves, with lots of volume towards the back of her head to give the illusion of a slight bouffant look, adding to the retro feel. The new look and style was courtesy of hairstylist Syd Hayes.
For glam, Hadid worked with makeup artist Nadia Tayeh on a quintessential Bella Hadid look: She wore black eyeliner in her water and lash line, paired with a bronzy eyeshadow that blended into a darker shade on her outer corner for a soft smoky eye. Her cheeks were glowing with lots of bronzer and highlighter, and the look was complete with a dusty rose colored lipstick.

Bangs or bobs? The jury has been split so far this year, but we’d wager Hadid’s new chop puts the bang brigade back up top. We’ll be adding her new fluffy bangs to our mood boards as we head into winter.
