Christina Aguilera Just Revived Her “Lady Marmalade” Curls

Christina Aguilera’s bouncy blonde curls and iconic Y2K style were an essential part of my childhood. Hearing her hits on the radio on the way to school made me the nostalgic 2000s baby that I am today. You’ll likely see multiple iterations of Aguilera’s best looks throughout this Halloween season, and lucky for us, she’s delivering fans a treat for the holiday.

‘Tis the season for celebrity Halloween photoshoots that have the budget, range, and references. Halle Bailey channeled Halle Berry’s Jinx character, Kylie Jenner was Barbarella, and Xtina was… simply herself. Well, kinda. The singer revived her bouncy blonde curls with a spooky sexy leopard print Halloween look.

Aguilera celebrated Halloween eve by posting a slideshow of selfies to Instagram with her curly hair front-and-center. Hairstylist Yuichi Ishida helped the singer get the style, curling her platinum blonde hair into voluminous ringlets that were giving Carrie Bradshaw vibes. Each strand was formed into a spiral that looked extra shiny and sleek with the camera flash.

Makeup artist Lora Arellano crafted Xtina’s spooky glam for the night which included a statement bloody eye look. Arellano used red eyeshadow to make Aguilera’s blue eyes pop, completing the look with wispy lashes and drops of “blood.” The finishing touch was Aguilera’s glossy red lipstick.

Aguilera’s outfit for the night felt just as much as an ode to the 2000s era as her hair. The singer styled a long velvety leopard print dress with shimmery fishnet stockings and crystal heels.

The Y2K trend isn’t going anywhere if Aguilera can help it. Her nostalgic big curls are the best Halloween treat.
