Kaia Geber’s Seashell Pink Nails Are the Perfect Ladylike Fall Mani

The Academy Museum Gala gave us a whole movie’s worth of stellar fashion and beauty moments. You could make a blockbuster hit from the plentiful references, hair transformations, and archival gowns featured on the red carpet, and there’s no doubt that Kaia Gerber’s vampy My Fair Lady ensemble would be a hit. The actress and model arrived in a 1997 Fall Couture Givenchy gown paired with regency hair and a pretty seashell manicure.

Gerber served for the fashion nerds—the dress was a goth take on the gown that Audrey Hepburn wore in the classic film, a nod to the movie’s impact as well as a thoughtful homage to the Academy Gala’s purpose to raise money for the historic film exhibits and programming. Sure, the dress deserves its moment, but so do Gerber’s pale pink nails.

Knowing when and how to rock a minimal manicure is an art that Gerber has seemingly perfected. Rather than opt for an ornate manicure that, yes, would be cool, but ultimately would take away from the gown, she stuck to a simple, almost-nude pink polish—the color of a seashell—that added to the princess feel of the outfit. She opted for a rounded medium almond length and swapped a glossy top coat for a vintage matte finish.

The rest of the glam was just as good. Makeup artist Nina Park leaned into the My Fair Lady of it all. “I wanted the makeup to elegantly modernize her Regency-inspired Givenchy dress,” she said, focusing on adding glowing blushing hues, “highlighting her natural radiance and bringing her inner light to the forefront.” Park used Addiction Tokyo products to achieve the look including The Blush in Matte Rose Latte and The Cheek Tint in On Vacay, a rosy terracotta on her cheeks.

Park completed the look with a matching rosy lip combination featuring the Lip Balm Soft Matte in New Romantics and the Lip Serum Tint in Rosy Pink, both true pink shades.

The entire ensemble was brought to life with the regency-inspired bouffant from hairstylist Bryce Scarlett. He added volume to the back of her hair by tying back the front strands and leaving a few effortless face-framing pieces. The rest of the hair was curled in royal ringlets.

A petition for a Gerber cameo in the next season of Bridgerton is in order. For now, we’ll be recreating her seashell nails all fall long.
