Congratulations are in order for Lana Condor! The To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before actor tied the knot with Anthony De La Torre after announcing their engagement back in 2022. As expected, the outdoor ceremony and Condor’s glam was stunning. The inspiration? Soft, voluminous waves that “gave her hair a beautiful timeless flow” shares celebrity hairstylist Kat Thompson, who collaborated with Condor on each look of the three day event. Lucky for us, Thompson spilled all the details on each of the star’s hairstyles throughout the weekend including her easygoing welcome dinner waves, elegant wedding day curls, and her bouncy farewell brunch ponytail.
“Lana knew overall how she wanted her looks to come together for each day, so I curated a mood board with choices until we found the perfect style to ensure her vision was beautifully brought to life,” says Thompson. The resulting looks included combining “romantic elegance with a modern feel” that added the perfect amount of fullness and movement but still “allowed her natural beauty to shine.” Ahead, Thompson gives us all the details.
Welcome Dinner Waves

Thompson used all Living Proof products for the weekend, starting with the welcome dinner. For the occasion, Thompson and Condor decided on “effortlessly timeless, chic waves that showed of her long natural hair.” The carefree style was the perfect pairing to her chic corseted gown and soft makeup. To give the curls a modern, easygoing feel, Thompson added a bit of texture to the waves, starting by applying the Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo to the roots, followed by the Full Dry Volume & Texture Spray throughout the hair for a touch of volume. The finished waves were topped with the StyleLab Flex Hairspray to keep them in place all night long.
When re-creating the look at home, Thompson recommends applying the Full Volume and Root Lifting Spray to damp hair before blowdrying to ensure lots of body. Pro tip: “Route the barrel back and forth to give the waves a separate and more natural curl,” she says.

Hear those bells? On her big day Condor opted for “glamorous classic waves” that looked so pretty paired with her strapless gown and pearls. There was an emphasis on the style feeling “polished, smooth, and elegant,” says Thompson, who wanted to “achieve soft, structured waves that frame her face.”
After her usual shower routine, Condor applied the Perfect Hair Day High Shine Gloss throughout her hair to create an ultra-shiny base. Before blowdrying, Thompson used the Restore Perfecting Spray and Frizz Smooth Styling Spray to the actor’s damp hair, using a round brush to smooth out the strands while drying. “We aimed for defined waves that looked flawless yet wearable,” says Thompson, who created the curls using a 1.25 barrel curling iron, curling each section in the same direction. She applied the same Flex Hairspray after the look was complete to lock everything in (she also used it for touch-ups throughout the night) and the finishing touch was a tiny bit of styling spray for added shine.
Farewell Brunch Ponytail

To end the celebrations on a high note, Condor’s farewell brunch look included a fun high ponytail with a sleek side part that could show off the details on the back of her dress. “We wanted the ponytail to have clean lines and volume at the base, giving it both structure and movement,” says Thompson. The Smooth Styling Spray was a go-to for Thompson throughout the getting ready process, and she used it again on day three to create a silky smooth base before styling. Thompson swept Condor’s hair back into a high ponytail at the crown, leaving the front section out to craft the side part. The look was complete with lots of shine and a touch of hairspray.
