While Lil Nas X is revered for his genre-bending music—like the chart-topping, viral single “Old Town Road”—he’s become equally known for his fluid self-expression through beauty. YSL Beauty is one brand that’s taken notice of the rapper’s penchant for beauty. The iconic label tapped the 25-year-old as an ambassador in 2022, and over the last two years, he’s fronted several campaigns and projects for their makeup and fragrance launches. “YSL Beauty is such an iconic brand,” X tells Byrdie. “My entire life growing up, I have always known of YSL Beauty, and being in a place where I can collaborate with them is such an amazing opportunity.”

Recently, X joined forces with YSL Beauty once again for the MYSLF Le Parfum digital series. The visuals—shot and directed by Zoey Grossman—feature X alongside other next-generation artists, including Peso Pluma, Shaboozey, The Kid LAROI, and Vinnie Hacker. The series provides each trailblazer space to share how they connect with the fragrance’s empowering and expressive ethos. “Viewers can expect to see us showing up as ourselves and having confidence and purpose in that,” X says.
