Megan Thee Stallion’s Colorful French Manicure Is Inspired by Her Hometown

It’s official: Megan Thee Stallion is in her Megan era (for the second time!). On October 25, the singer released her new album Megan Act II, as the companion record to her self-titled album. For the leading single, “Bigger in Texas,” Stallion wore a long ornate manicure the Texas way and we can confirm that even her usually long and decorated nails are bigger and bolder in Texas.

In the video, the rapper styles a cutesy cowgirl outfit, drives around in a vintage car, and switches up between wolf cuts and long curls. If you didn’t know, Megan hails from Houston, Texas, which often inspires her music, and now her nails. Her new set is an ode to her hometown and features symbols from the city’s sports team and flag.

Like most of Thee Stallion’s intricate manicures, there’s a lot to unpack. The singer posted a close-up of the nail look on her Instagram, coining it the “H-Town Hottie” nail set. For starters, she kept her long signature square style for the base, allowing room for the symbolic colors and icons to pop. Interestingly enough, Megan also recreated a colorblocked print that she wore recently in another manicure to the Golden Heart Awards in New York City.

Each nail felt like it had it’s own story. For example, her pointer finger had a white base covered in the Astros’ (Houston’s baseball team) logo, which is an “H” centered in a orange and blue star. On her other pointer finger and the closest ring finger, she took the same color palette and infused it into a French design with white and blue tips. On another finger, a block of navy blue and red was separated by a gold chain, a nod to Texas’ state flag.

When Megan wears the manicure in the video, she’s driving around in a red car with an edgy shaggy hairstyle. The layered cut sits at her chin and features swooshy layered bangs and strands that slightly curl up at the ends. Everything from the manicure to the hair and makeup was bold—she wore a long winged-eyeliner with a bronzy eye look and a glossy nude lip.
