Matthieu Blazy is now planted firmly as Chanel creative director within Chanel’s historic Paris headquarters on 31 Rue Cambon. The revered French-Belgian designer took up the top post in December 2024 and presented his long-awaited debut collection (to rave reviews from our forum members) during the Spring 2026 season of Paris Fashion Week back in October. Blazy’s first official advertising campaign as creative director has landed, showcasing the limited edition collection for the Holiday 2025 season. Blazy, formerly of Bottega Veneta, called upon his favorite photographic duo for the occasion in the form of Louise & Maria Thornfeldt. The pair point their lens toward models-of-the-moment Penelope Ternes and Haojie Qi, who pose against a sleek white backdrop throughout the chic and minimalist campaign imagery.

“Christmas tree earrings – I just can’t,” exclaimed FisforFrank at once.
“The Christmas tree earrings are vile,” forum member TianCouture echoed.
“OMG, not even for free would I wear that,” Creative commented.
FashionPower noted: “100% Blazy because it looks sterile and emotionless. A new low from Chanel with that Christmas tree earring. The funniest thing is, is that it’s going to cost 2k for coated brass and a couple of glass crystals!”
Yet not everyone was disappointed. “The simplicity feels like a palette cleanser after Chanel campaigns over recent seasons, and I’m here for it. I like the casting of Penelope Ternes and Haojie Qi here. They both look and feel expensive, and help elevate the campaign. The minimalist art direction, as is the beauty styling… it’s ALL working for me,” confessed vogue28.
“It’s simple, maybe a little too simple,” voiced chrisand489.
