Rhode’s Shimmery New Lip Tint Is Inspired by Hailey Bieber’s “Favorite” Thing to Bake

Is there anything worse than a limited edition product? While some are obsessed with collecting each and every limited release from their favorite brands like it’s a game, I see it more as a cruel joke—you’re telling me a product could become my ultimate favorite only to be ripped away at any second? No thank you. As such, I tend to not ever dip a toe into a special edition launch, but I made an exception for Rhode’s Jelly Bean Lip Tint, a baby pink, shimmery, Y2K-inspired lip tint released to celebrate Hailey Bieber’s birthday last year. Of course, I became obsessed with it, and while I savored every last drop, I finally just finished it and was left feeling as empty as the tube itself.

Bieber must be looking out for me, though, as Rhode just announced its latest shimmery Lip Tint, right on time for Bieber’s 28th birthday (and right on time to replenish my stash). However, while the nourishing formula and subtle shimmer are the same as the Lip Tint we know and love, the shade and flavor are brand-new and perfect for fall. On November 22, the brand is dropping the Cinnamon Roll Peptide Lip Tint.

The Inspiration

Last year’s Jelly Bean Lip Tint marked the brand’s first foray into shimmer, a tradition Rhode is keeping alive with this year’s Cinnamon Roll Lip Tint. The scent—freshly-baked cinnamon rolls—is inspired by Bieber’s homemade “Bieber Buns,” her favorite Sunday breakfast.

“I love launching a special lip treatment or tint every year for my birthday,” Bieber tells Byrdie. “This year, it’s based on my cinnamon rolls. They’re my favorite things to make and what I’m known for amongst my friends.” It’s the perfect warm and cozy flavor for fall and winter. As for the shade, Cinnamon Roll is a sheer spiced brown gloss with subtle shimmer.

But there’s more! In addition to the solo gloss, which will retail for $18, Rhode is also launching a special edition Birthday Duo set. For $42, you can get the Cinnamon Roll Lip Tint, alongside your choice of the brand’s glowy Pocket Blush.

The Formula

Shimmer aside, the Cinnamon Roll Lip Tint “features the same restorative formula as all Peptide Lip Treatments and Tints that you know and love to leave lips naturally plump, hydrated, and nourished from within,” says the brand.

Key ingredients include shea butter, which hydrates and moisturizes with five essential fatty acids including vitamin E, vitamin D, vitamin A, and allantoin, and peptides to help plump your lips and visibly reduce fine lines. Then, there’s cupuaçu, which helps maintain skin elasticity, improving suppleness for dry and dehydrated lips, and babassu, a natural source of lauric acid to support the microbiome and replenish overall skin moisture.
