Rihanna’s Black Cherry Hair Puts an Edgy Twist on a Classic Fall Shade

Rihanna’s ability to transform into any persona for a campaign or shoot is unmatched. In her first appearance as the face of Dior’s J’adore, she was a blonde dripping in diamonds in a corseted gown. For her Fenty x Puma Phatty Creeper shoot she channeled back-to-school energy putting an edgy spin on girly pigtails. You can see where we’re going with this, right? For her latest collaboration with Diesel, her hair transformation is nothing short of iconic (and revives one of last year’s biggest trends).

On October 8, Rihanna announced her newest business venture on Instagram (sadly, it wasn’t R9, but we’ll take it!). Her brand Savage x Fenty is collaborating with luxury brand Diesel on a line of loungewear and lingerie. For the occasion, RiRi swapped her typical jet-black hair for a bright shade of cherry red.

You couldn’t escape cherry red last year, and while the shade has matured into a deeper wine-stained hue this fall, Rihanna is making the case for bringing back the bright crimson color. If you aren’t familiar, the bright red shade has become a signature in Diesel’s house codes, along with fringed denim and distressing. In the photos, her fuzzy blue coat is covering her choppy red hair which features fringed face-framing pieces and sits at chest length. It was the perfect beauty ode to the brands’ partnership.

For glam, she opted for a soft makeup look to keep the attention on the edgy hair and clothes. She wore fluffy black lashes complemented by her glowy complexion and a nude glossy lip. Of course, for the shoot, she’s wearing a set from the collection which is available to shop now.
