Selena Gomez Tried Fall’s Bright Blonde Trend for Her ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Costume

I don’t know about you, but my favorite thing about Halloween is watching the celebrity costumes roll in. The budgets are there for my favorite muses to undergo elaborate transformations annd cosplay their favorite iconic characters, and I live for every Instagram post. The first of what I’m sure will be many looks began rolling in over the weekend, starting with Selena Gomez’s bright blonde hair change.

The debate of when Halloweekend officially kicks off is still ongoing, but Gomez opted into the holiday’s festivities on October 26, debuting an Alice in Wonderland-themed couples costume with beau Benny Blanco on Instagram. The actor opted for a classic take on Alice’s character with blonde hair adorned with cutesy bows, and Blanco transformed into the Mad Hatter.

Even if it is a costume, we’re counting Gomez’s blonde strands as participating in one of fall’s biggest hair color trends. Her new color was styled with a middle part in long wavy ringlets that added to the girly feel of the costume. In the movie, Alice wears a black headband and Gomez did the same for her costume, opting for Jennifer Behr’s bow-adorned Rochel Headband to add to the cute vibes of the costume. From her new flippy bob to long blonde curls, if Gomez has one thing, it’s the range.

It’s tough to get a closer look at her glam since the photos were taken far away, however, we can see that she completed the look with a bright red lipstick. Gomez’s complexion was soft and matte, and it almost looks like she wore a smoked-out faux liner using a darker eyeshadow on her lash and waterline. Tom Bachik, Gomez’s manicurist, crafted a simple black nail look to go with the costume.

In the Halloween celebrity Olympics, so far Gomez is taking gold. Her blonde curls look unexpectedly natural on the star, and we’re petitioning for the color to be a permanent change. For now, we’ll be going down the rabbit hole.
