Selena Gomez’s Vampy Violet Manicure Brings the Fall Vibes

Selena Gomez is serving up non-stop fall nail inspiration and it doesn’t seem like she’ll be slowing down anytime soon. Her latest nail look channels one of fall’s in-season vegetables, the eggplant.

Last night, October 21, Gomez attended the Los Angeles premiere of her upcoming film Emilia Pérez. For the occasion, the actor went with her go-to as of late: A black gown and a sleek slicked-back hairstyle. Although she was wearing black gloves on the carpet, her manicurist Tom Bachik posted a close-up of her moody nails for the night.

On Instagram, Bachik revealed everything he used to get Gomez’s edgy eggplant manicure. To prep and shape her nails, he always uses his Tweezerman & Tom Bachik Nail Care Travel Set—for this manicure, the duo opted for a medium-length rounded style which added a polished feel to the deep violet shade. The exact polish he used was Aprés Nails Eggplant Emoji, which he topped with a glossy top coat for some extra refined shine.

When was the last time you saw a purple manicure trending? We couldn’t begin to tell you, but most of Gomez’s latest manicures—like her toffee nails or her autumnal take on classic red—have led the nail pack. The vampy violet is the perfect alternative to popular dark shades like burgundy, black, or brown, but still adds a fun pop of color.

Gomez’s black strapless gown hails from Elie Saab and she was styled for the night by Erin Walsh. For glam, she opted for a gray smoky eye topped with fluttery black lashes, courtesy of makeup artist Hung Vanngo. The look was complete with coral-y nude lipstick. After donning a flippy bob over the weekend at the Academy Museum Gala, hairstylist Renato Campora slicked her hair back into a sleek bun.
